Waiting for the Right One

Waiting for the right one is not an easy thing to do that’s for sure, especially if you are in situations that give temptation towards having a boyfriend or a girlfriend just for the sake of going with the flow. It takes a lot of patience, but it will be so worth it in the end. I believe that God wants us to be pure in every way. I have chosen to wait for the right guy to come into my life………. I know that God will send him at the perfect time! Isn’t that something that’s worth waiting for?

Relationships are a perfect way for the devil to tempt us, draw us away from Christ, disobey God, or disobey our parents. A daughter who gives her heart to her father is rare.  I wished I saw it more.  Instead, I see young Christian girls being rebellious to their parents and having a relationship with a guy that just seems cute in the beginning.  Later, after they’ve given their heart away (and sometimes their purity), the breaks up with her and she realizes he wasn’t “the one”.   Now she’ll not be able to give to her husband her whole, pure heart.

When I was 10 years old I gave my heart to my dad. It didn’t start getting difficult until I turned 13. I just want to let all you know that I am NOT perfect! I DO have struggles and really hard things to go through…… I am just an ordinary teenage girl! But I have found that if I can just give my heart to my dad, and to my heavenly Father, they will take care of everything. This does mean that when dads make decisions that we don’t understand, we have to trust him. When I am really struggling, I go to the Lord and I cry out to Him for help to trust my dad.

I can remember a certain time when I was 13 and my dad made a decision that seemed totally crazy to me. So I was having a really hard time with trusting him and knowing that he was only doing it for my good even though it didn’t seem like it, so I went to the Lord and I prayed for Him to just take the problem away. Wrong thing to ask! The Lord gently scolded me and said,

“Brooklyn, when you accepted me into your life, did you think that you would never have problems? I sometimes put you in situations like these so that you will realize how small you are and so that you will come to me with your problems. I am always here waiting for you with open arms.”

God tells us in His Word:  II Cor. 3:19 ~ “And he hath said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

God certainly changed how I thought. I then know that God will always be there for me no matter how big the problem was, or how many mistakes I make, He is always there for me. He is, and always will be there for you, too!
